NB Interstate 75 at Fletcher Avenue in Hillsborough County reopened after brush fire

UPDATE: 7:50 p.m. | I-75 has reopened at Fletcher.

UPDATE 7:15 p.m. |  Hillsborough Fire Rescue is reporting that the fire is contained, but will continue to monitor overnight.  Northbound I-75 from Fletcher to Bruce B. Downs remains closed.

UPDATE 4:30 p.m. | Hillsborough Fire Rescue says that they are on scene of 3 brush fires in the area of I-75 and Fletcher.  I-75 between Fletcher and Bruce B. Downs remains closed.  The three fires total approximately 175 acres.

Flatwoods Park has been evacuated and closed.  No homes are threatened by the fires.

Northbound Interstate 75 is closed at Fletcher Avenue due to a brush fire, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Tampa and Hillsborough County firefighters are battling the blaze that broke out Saturday afternoon.

Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies, Tampa police officers and Florida state troopers are assisting on the scene.

Motorists should seek alternate routes.
