Wedding season is officially here! As plenty of brides-to-be are discovering, the planning process can be pretty hectic and expensive.
The all-important wedding dress can cost hundreds, even thousands of dollars. Today though they're in luck, thanks to the Goodwill Wedding Gala.
The event runs until 9 p.m. Friday
The brides to be have a good reason to be excited. Not only are they getting a great deal, but they're also helping out the Goodwill in the process -- and making a lifetime of memories with other brides-to-be.
"I got here so early because it's crazy, and I didn't want to stand in line. I wanted be the first one to make sure we got a dress," said bride-to-be Madison Alonzo.
It's no doubt the most important item for any bride to be.
"Very exciting, save a couple thousand dollars. That's pretty amazing," Alonzo told ABC Action News.
For these ladies, it was well worth the early rise Friday for the Clearwater wedding gown gala.
"Its surreal! It's just unbelievable. This is the very first dress I've tried on. It's just a lot to take in," said bride-to-be Amy McConnell.
The brides-to-be are getting great deals. The most they'll pay for a dress is four hundred dollars.
The great part, though, is that the proceeds benefit services provided to those with disabilities at Goodwill.
"It benefits Goodwill Sun Coast programs as far north as Ocala and as far east as Lakeland. We help people find jobs who have disabilities or other barriers to employment," said Jennifer Fleming with Goodwill.
