Apple fans camp out for iPhone 7 release in Tampa Bay area

Posted at 6:24 AM, Sep 16, 2016

The new iPhone 7 is here! Well, a few of them are here.

The phones, which were announced last week, go on sale this morning for the first time and come in two versions: the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

People camped out at locations around the Tampa Bay area to try and snag one of the new phones before all of them sell out.

Some people were even seen sleeping on blow-up mattresses while they waited for the doors to open to get their new phone.

There are only a few iPhone 7's that you can actually get your hands on if you head out to buy one on Friday.

The jet black and all of the iPhone 7 plus models are sold out and on backorder until November.

Apple fans have criticized the lack of a headphone jack, but they're also excited about the phone being water-resistant.

There is some great news for those of you who want an iPhone but don't want to spend the $649 for the new model. The older models, like the iPhone 6, will be cheaper starting today. The best part, you can still get iOS 10 on the older phone.
