Idaho school cafeteria worker says she is out of a job for giving a child free meal.
Dalene Bowden says a 12-year-old Irving Middle School student told her she hungry but didn't have any money.
Bowden's supervisor reported her. Even though Bowden said she would pay for the meal with her own money, she was fired for theft.
Bowden said, "My heart hurts. I truly loved my job, and I can't say that I wouldn't do it again."
Bowden has hired an attorney, to try and get her job back. A growing online petition for her has nearly 45,000 supporters.
