Florida's department of financial services will hold the 2016 unclaimed property auction on Saturday, August 13, in Tampa.

The auction will be at the Tampa Marriott Westshore location off Westshore Blvd.

Bidding begins for the items at 10:00 a.m. Registration opens at 8:00 a.m.

According to a press release, items include an 18K gold Rolex-brand watch, 18K gold necklace with more than 3 dozens natural-cut diamonds, emeralds, pearls and rubies, along with rare coins and collector cards.

However, if you aren't interested in an auction, the state also keeps track of unclaimed funds owed to Floridians. The state office estimates around 1 in 5 people in Tampa have money that is owed to them.
