If you happen to smell smoke in the sky while you're out and about today, a prescribed burn in Hillsborough County may be the culprit.
The county's conservation and environmental lands management department will begin the burn at 2:30 p.m., said Brian Evarts, burn manager. It will end around 7 p.m., Evarts said.
The location: Upper Tampa Bay Park at 8001 Double Branch Road in Tampa.
The purpose of the burn is for "ecological site maintenance," and park facilities will remain open for the duration of the burn.
