Two teachers were taken to the hospital after a lightning strike in Tampa.
Hillsborough Fire Rescue responded to Literacy Leadership Technology Academy located at 6771 Madison Avenue on Tuesday afternoon around 3:20 p.m.
Action News reporter Marisela Burgos reported four teachers were outside during dismissal. They heard thunder and started walking back into the school, when lightning hit the building and damaged the roof.
One of the teachers that felt the impact was holding an umbrella. The other was walking underneath a walkway covered by metal.
Both are expected to be ok.
The lightning strike left three holes in the school's roof.
Classes have been canceled for Wednesday as a result.
