Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino will hold a security hiring event next week for 35 new security positions that have been added.

A security hiring event has been scheduled for Wednesday, April 27, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Hard Rock Cafe.

The casino currently has 160 security positions, but they are adding 35 full-time positions with benefits.

"People want to see security people, they want to feel safe," said head security director Danny Wright. "Just like on the street, they want to see police officers. Here they want to see security officers."

Wright, with 37 years as a security officer, now is head of security at Hard Rock. Wright will be looking for job candidates that are people-oriented.

"Most people think we want burly guys," Wright said. "We want people that like to speak to people, that engage with the public."

Hard Rock is looking for people 18 and older with a high school diploma or GED and one year of guest service experience. Both men and women are encouraged to apply. Applicants need to be good in emergency situations, be able to stand for up to seven hours at a time and must work different shifts, including overnights and weekends.

If you're really hoping to land this job, ABC Action News found out you should apply for the job before the hiring event because there's an opportunity for you to be interviewed and even hired on the spot. You can fill out the application by clicking here.
