A Minnesota-based meat company has issued a recall on nearly 90,000 pounds of beef due to the possibility of contamination.
Huisken Meat Company released a statement Monday detailing a USDA inspection which led to the recall. The statement said 89,568 pounds of beef produced between November 19 and December 9 of 2015 may contain extraneous wood materials.
The recall affects a six-pack of beef patties sold at Walmart stores.
- 2 lb. box of six Black Angus beef patties
- Use by dates of 5/17/2016, 5/29/2016, and 6/6/2016
- Products were shipped to retailers nationwide
Although there have been no reports of "adverse effects" due to the consumption of the beef patties, consumers are urged to throw away or return the product in question.
