TAMPA, FL - A new program by the Tampa Downtown Partnership is hoping to create an economic boost for local businesses.

On Wednesday, the Tampa Downtown Partnership launched the Downtown Dollar program. The program provides 200 free vouchers worth $10.

People can pick up the voucher at Lykes Gaslight Square Park from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday and use them at any of the 31 participating eateries and businesses in Tampa.

"This has been a challenging year for small, local businesses, and this is one small way the Tampa Downtown Partnership can help," said Tampa Downtown Partnership President and CEO Lynda Remund. "The Partnership will use Special Services District (SSD) grant funds for the Downtown Dollar program, and it is our goal to do this on the first Wednesday of every month for the next ten months."

The vouchers expire quickly. Once received, people have December 2nd and 3rd to use them.
