ORLANDO, Fla. — Comcast Corporation officials have confirmed that Super Nintendo World will be coming to Universal's new park, Epic Universe, in Orlando.
During a conference call on Thursday, Brian L. Roberts, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Comcast, said the park would open in Orlando in 2023.
"Nintendo, based on our research, is one of the biggest potential drivers of attendance that you could have of any kind," said Stephen Burke, Chief Executive Officer for NBCUniversal.
After the opening of Super Nintendo World in Beijing in 2021, construction will have began on Universal's Epic Universe in Orlando.
"Even longer term, we're excited for Epic Universe, which will transform our already successful Orlando park," said Michael Cavanagh, Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
The Super Nintendo World will be a part of the "fourth gate" at Universal Studios in Orlando, according to comments made by Roberts and Burke.
Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure and Volcano Bay water park make up Universal's first three local theme parks, also referred to as gates.
