TAMPA, Fla. — People living in southwest Florida will want to double check their Powerball tickets. Someone there is an instant multi-millionaire.

The winning ticket for the January 29 drawing was sold at a 7-Eleven store on Bonita Beach Road in Bonita Springs.

The winning numbers were 9, 12, 15, 31, 60 with 2 as the Powerball.

The winner can choose to have the $396.9 million jackpot paid over thirty years or take a one-time lump sum of $274.6 million. Per Florida law, the winner has six months to come forward to claim the prize.

There were a total of 108,156 winning tickets sold in Florida for Wednesday's drawing. One tickets sold in the state matched all five white numbers and is worth $1 million. Four tickets matched four numbers and the Powerball and are each worth $50,000.

Wednesday's Powerball jackpot was the largest since a Wisconsin man won $768.4 million in a March 27, 2019 drawing.

The last person to buy a jackpot-winning Powerball ticket in Florida was a Pennsylvania judge on vacation in the Florida Keys. James Stocklas won $291 million Powerball in the March 2, 2016 drawing.

Wednesday's drawing was the 25th since since a ticket sold in California matched all six numbers in the $150 million Powerball jackpot drawing on November 2nd.

The Powerball jackpot now resets to $40 million for Saturday’s drawing because a winning ticket was selected. The deadline to buy tickets in Florida is 10:00 p.m. EST.
