Florida Gov. Rick Scott is signing off on a sweeping education bill that would allow parents to move their children to schools across county lines.

Scott on Thursday signed 20 bills into law.

The sweeping education bill (HB 7029) combined several unrelated education measures into one comprehensive bill. It includes many changes for high school athletics. It allows private schools to join a state sports association on a per-sport basis and makes students who transfer immediately eligible.

He also vetoed a bill that would have given out incentives to dentists who offer care in underserved areas.

The bills that Scott approved include one that deals with Citizens Property Insurance and legislation that creates a pilot program aimed at bringing grocery stores to areas that don't have access to fresh food.
