Extreme cruelty: Dog hung from fence before being shot to death

DETROIT (WXYZ) — Michigan Humane Cruelty investigators are looking to bring justice to a dog that was found deceased with an electrical cord and gunshot wounds.

Investigators responded to a complaint in the 5200 block of Devonshire on Detroit's east side. The caller said the dog was tied up with the cord in the backyard.

Upon arrival, investigators discovered that the dog had been tied to the fence in the yard a few inches off the ground and was also shot multiple times.

The animal autopsy showed that the dog was alive when it was tied to the fence and subsequently shot. Investigators believe the incident took place within the last 10-14 days.

The Michigan Humane Society and Crime Stoppers of Michigan are offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.
