Starting Friday, the Suncoast Parkway will no longer accept cash to pay for tolls.

A Sunpass will be required or else the state will toll you by your license plate.

The conversion from SR 52 to U.S. Route 98 completes the AET project and affects the following toll plazas:
• Spring Hill Toll Plaza (Milepost 31)
• CR 578 (Exit 37)
• SR 50/Cortez Boulevard (Exit 46)
• Oak Hammock Toll Plaza (Milepost 53)

The state says going cashless allows traffic to keep moving and drivers will not jockey for certain lanes. They also say it helps drivers stay focused instead of searching for coins and cash to pay for tolls.
