MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Department of Transportation says the I-275 southbound ramp to I-75 northbound in Manatee County is open, as of 6 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

In July 2018 an $8 million bridge deck replacement project began on the ramp. It was scheduled to last 10 months, but has been closed since the project began.

While the project isn't completely done, FDOT says the remaining work only requires nighttime and overnight periodic lane closures on I-75 and I-275. It shouldn't significantly impact traffic, FDOT says.

The remaining work includes applying protective coating to the steel beams on the bridge and installing audible pavement markings along the shoulder of the roadway approaching the bridge, according to FDOT.

The project will be completed in its entirety in the spring.
