TAMPA, Fla. — As part of our commitment to drive Tampa Bay Forward, we looked into complaints of speeding on Armenia Avenue.

We reached out to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office who immediately conducted a study on the street.

In less than a week, deputies began patrolling the street.

We were out there when we saw someone going 51 mph in the 35 mph speed limit area.

"Hillsborough County and probably the state of Florida has an epidemic of speeders," says Cpl. Kristy Udagawa. "Unfortunately, everyone's in a hurry."

Deputies said they are responding to complaints about speeders on Tampa Bay area roads all the time. They encourage you to reach out to them and complain. They will then do a study, see what the average speed is and then determine the course of action from there.

Cpl. Udagawa says sometimes the action immediately taken is just a band-aid to fix the problem. So if you complained, saw results, and then months later are seeing speeders again, the Sheriff's Office still wants you to call them.
