The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office says deputies had to hog-tie a suspect after trying to attack his neighbors with a machete.
Deputies arrested Wilson Torres for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, trespassing, battery on officer, and resist officer with violence.
"He told my dad he was going to kill the whole family," said Erica Roberts.
Roberts says a simple argument between Torres and her father quickly escalated Tuesday in their Lutz mobile home park.
"I turn around, I see him running at me and my dad with the machete and I was like 'Dad get inside!' I pushed my dad inside, I slammed the door shut," said Roberts.
Deputies report that Torres then hacked away at the family's trailer and used his machete to smash several windows on the truck parked outside, causing hundreds of dollars in damage.
"I was like 'call the cops, call the cops right now.' My baby is in here and we had no way to defend ourselves, we had no protection or anything," said Roberts.
It took multiple deputies to get Torres under control and eventually hog-tied Torres to keep him from fighting.
Roberts says she is thankful Torres is no longer a threat to her family, but is still shaken by what happened.
"That just really makes me want to have personal protection at home because you never know, nowadays," said Roberts.
