Betty Gibson is having a hard time understanding what happened to her grandson Tony Terry.

Troopers said he was walking northbound on US-92 early Saturday morning near Comfort Drive when a car hit and killed him. Troopers said the car sped off, then another car hit his body. The driver of the second car called 911.

"They came to us at 4 a.m. and told me that he was dead and that two cars hit him," said Betty Gibson.

Troopers said they have very few leads to go on.

"Please come let us know something if you have any information," said Gibson.

Gibson is having an especially hard time with her grandson's death, because her son was killed in the same area about twenty years ago.  Both deaths were hit and run crashes.

"I'm so confused right now I don't know what to say," said Gibson.

The family is calling for crosswalks and more lighting on the stretch of US-92 where the deaths occurred.

Terry leaves behind an 8-year-old son.
