7 additional residents dead from coronavirus outbreak at Pinellas County nursing homes

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. -- New numbers reveal seven more residents have died after the coronavirus outbreak hit multiple Pinellas County nursing homes.

The Pinellas Medical Examiner's office says four residents from Seminole Nursing Pavilion died and three residents from St. Mark Village in Palm Harbor died over the weekend.

Earlier in the month, 13 other residents and 8 staff members from the St. Mark Village in Palm Harbor had tested positve for coronavirus. Last week, 9 more tested positive for COVID-19 and 7 of them were taken to the hospital.

The new numbers come as nearly 400 assisted living facilities across the Sunshine State have had coronavirus cases. Those facilities are tied to more than 300 deaths.
