Investigators from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's office are trying to figure out if two deputies were the intended targets of an overnight shooting.
It happened around 1:30 a.m. near a 7-Eleven convenience store located near the intersection of Waters and Lewis.
A Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office major told Action News that 3 to 4 shots were fired.
One deputy had to dive into his cruiser for cover and the another had to duck behind a car. Two bullets hit a concrete wall.
Investigators are currently looking at surveillance video from nearby businesses for leads and possible suspect information.
It's believed the shots were fired from a small hand gun.
