HealthyKids
HealthyKids is a year-round program offered in recreation centers across St. Petersburg. The program focuses on healthy eating and physical fitness activities for our school-age children as well as opportunities to engage parents and families in healthy habits. The program is launching its new quarterly curriculum as well as hosting “Fit Family Nights” at each center. Fit Family Nights are free, open to the public, and offer families the chance to engage in fun interactive activities at conveniently located recreation centers. Fit Family Night activities include a one-mile fun walk, healthy cooking demos, and interactive fitness games.

Health360
Health360 is a program offered at Campbell Park Recreation Center that is open to anyone wanting to learn more about healthy eating, cooking, diabetes prevention, and childhood obesity prevention. Evidence-based classes are offered by several partner organizations (John Hopkins All Children’s Hospital -First Steps Fit for All Kids, University of Florida-IFAS Extension – Cooking Matters, St. Anthony’s Hospital – Diabetes Empowerment Education Program) at the center free of charge. Participants also receive a fresh produce voucher for each class attended that is redeemable for $10 worth of fresh produce. This is a great incentive for families to try healthier cooking options and experience a large variety of produce, without the fear of effecting the family budget.
