Pet therapy dogs provide comfort and companionship to cancer patients at Moffitt Cancer Center. Moffitt has more than a dozen pet therapy volunteers and the dogs must be a certified pet therapy animal in order to volunteer. Moffitt just received designation as a pet therapy certification center, making it the first hospital in Hillsborough County to certify pet therapy dogs.
