Pet therapy dogs provide comfort and companionship to cancer patients at Moffitt Cancer Center. Moffitt has more than a dozen pet therapy volunteers and the dogs must be a certified pet therapy animal in order to volunteer. Moffitt just received designation as a pet therapy certification center, making it the first hospital in Hillsborough County to certify pet therapy dogs. Anyone can apply to have their dog certified and the dogs are screened for their temperament and behavior. Visit www.Moffitt.org for more information.
