They started dating in high school.

Two years ago Chase Buchanan and Kristy Eighinger got engaged.

The booked the photographer months in advance. But by November, the couple says Shakespeare Photography in Brandon stopped answering the phone.

The business disappeared and so did Eighinger’s $1200.

By January, they started to panic as the wedding was just two months away.

I shared the couple’s story with Shannon Livingston of Livingston Galleries. She’s  spent the last 20 years photographing weddings at some of the most beautiful spots in Tampa Bay.

Two decades ago, a wedding photographer stood up Livingston and her husband on their own wedding day. Which is why she agreed to step in help Kristy and Chase on their special day.

We surprised them with the news and a week lake introduced Livningston to Eighinger and Buchanan.

Shakespeare Photography appears to have closed their Brandon shop and left without notifying customers.

TAKING ACTION

When looking for a photographer check references and get recommendations from your other vendors or the venue hosting your event.

Many of the nicer hotels and venues have a preferred list of proven photographers.

Also, you want to ask to see pictures of an entire wedding they have shot rather than just a few shots.
