HUD approved nonprofits are offering free mortgage help for owners facing foreclosure in the Tampa Bay area.
The Housing and Education Alliance partnered with the City of Tampa and the county Wednesday to sponsor a workshop aimed at assisting people who are either behind on their mortgage or facing foreclosure.
The workshop will be open until 7 p.m. Wednesday at Career Source Tampa at 9215 N. Florida Ave. in Tampa.
Bank representatives along with mortgage counselors are offering assistance and information on the Making Homes Affordable Program that offers money to help people who are behind on payments.
Other assistance includes loan modifications, guidance on short sales and other mortgage solutions.
