TAMPA, Fla — BRP is recalling a Sea-Doo cooler because it poses a potential entrapment and suffocation hazard.

The LinQ Cooler is sold with the 2019 Sea-Doo Fish Pro personal watercraft and separately as an accessory.

BRP warns the cooler's latch can automatically lock when the lid closes, allowing a person to become locked inside.

The recalled cooler has the product number 269800817.

Consumers can confirm they have an affected cooler by contacting an authorized Sea-Doo dealer or BRP at 888-272-9222 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. EDT.

Parts to fix the latch issue should be at Sea-Doo dealers by July 22, 2019.

Customers owning the cooler should soon receive a letter from BRP explaining how to get it fixed for free at their local Sea-Doo dealer beginning July 22, 2019.
