Publix has issued a voluntarily recalling on ground beef products due to possible E. Coli contamination, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service. 

The ground chuck items were purchased by consumers from June 25, 2018, through July 31, 2018. The following products are subject to recall:

  • Meatloaf grillers
  • Badia seasoned ground chuck burger
  • Seasoned meatballs
  • Mesquite seasoned ground chuck burger
  • Seasoned meatloaf (oven ready)
  • Montreal seasoned chuck burger
  • Stuffed peppers (oven ready)
  • Steakhouse seasoned ground chuck burger
  • Bacon & cheddar meatballs
  • Bacon & cheddar burgers
  • Bacon & fried onion meatball
  • Bacon & fried onion burger
  • Blue cheese meatballs
  • Blue cheese burgers
  • Jalapeno and cheddar meatballs
  • Jalapeno and cheddar burger
  • Spanish meatballs: beef, pork, ham
  • Stuffed pimento cheese burger
  • Swiss & mushroom meatball
  • Swiss & mushroom burger
  • Ground chuck
  • Bacon & cheddar slider
  • Ground chuck burgers
  • Bacon & fried onion sliders
  • Ground chuck slider burgers
  • Blue cheese sliders
  • Ground chuck for chili
  • Jalapeno & cheddar slider

The items were shipped to Publix Super Market retail locations in the following Florida counties:

  • Sumter 

The  U.S. Department of Agriculture was notified after 18 people, predominantly from Florida, became ill between July 5 to July 25. Their investigation traced the illnesses back to the products purchased at various Publix Supermarkets.
