ECHO is recalling more than 67,000 backpack blowers and more than 6,000 replacement shoulder straps over a laceration and impact hazard.
According to the recall, the blower's shoulder straps, plastic buckles or anti-static ground wire can be drawn into the fan. This can cause plastic pieces to be expelled from the machine, posing laceration and impact hazards.
The recall involves ECHO and Shindaiwa brand 2-cycle gas powered commercial backpack blowers with shoulder straps. As well as replacement shoulder straps. The model and serial numbers are located on the blower's engine block.

Consumers should stop using the product and return it to an authorized ECHO or Shindaiwa dealer for a free repair. There have been 62 reports of incidents with the product, including one minor injury.
