28,000 electric lawn mowers recalled due to a fire hazard

28,000 cordless electric lawn mowers have been recalled due to a fire hazard.  The Kobalt and Greenworks walk-behind mowers are being recalled nationwide because the circuit board can short circuit causing a fire.   

12 incidents involving the mowers have been reported and 5 reports of fires.  No injuries have been reported.

The recalled mowers were sold between May 2014 and July 2016 at Lowe’s and other nationwide retailers.  The mowers were also available at Lowes.com and Amazon.com.
