It's always been on October 31, but some people out there think it's time to move the date of the Halloween holiday.

A petition at change.org calls for the spookiest day of the year to be on the last Saturday of October so that it always falls on a weekend, rather than keeping it on the 31st. The petition website says it is created by the Halloween & Costume Associationbut doesn't show actual names behind it. As of 10:15 a.m. Eastern today, the petition was seeking 1,500 names and already has 1,143.

The petition is called the Saturday Halloween Movement. It may be read and signed here.

The goal of the organizers is to have it be a day of celebration rather than crammed into a couple of hours because many folks work when it falls on weekdays.

What do you think: Should Halloween stay on Oct. 31, or be moved to the last Saturday of October?
