Wednesday, March 8 is International Women's Day. It is a day to commemorate the movement for women's rights.

International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women, according to InternationalWomensDay.com

In honor of International Women's Day, many are protesting against gender discrimination. 

A strike is scheduled on Wednesday to recognize "the enormous value that women of all backgrounds add to our socioeconomic system, while receiving lower wages and experiencing greater inequities, vulnerability to discrimination, sexual harassment and job insecurity." Read more about the strike here.
