Friday, July 13

The World Series of Comedy

When: July 11-15
Where: McCurdy's Comedy Theatre at 1923 Ringling Boulevard, Sarasota
Cost: $18
Info: The World Series of Comedy will feature 40 professional national touring comics in one week. Comedians from all over the United States and Canada will travel to McCurdy’s Comedy Theatre in Sarasota to perform for a chance to win a trip to Las Vegas in September for The Main Event. The audience gets to vote and help the judges pick the winners!

3 Daughters Brewing Classic Car Show

When: 6 p.m. - 11 p.m. 
Where: 3 Daughters Brewing at 222 22nd Street South, St. Petersburg

Info: Classic cars and delicious beer, need we say more? The 3 Daughters Brewing Classic Car Show will showcase dozens of pre-1970 classic vehicles. This family-friendly event is free to check out. 

Patel Conservatory presents Hello, Dolly!

Where: The Straz Center at 1010 N Macinnes Place, Tampa

Info: Students in grades nine through college bring this blockbuster Broadway hit to life. Hello, Dolly! follows the romantic and comic exploits of Dolly Gallagher-Levi as she "arranges things" for a certain Yonkers half-a-millionaire. This favorite musical masterpiece never fails to entertain with its larger than life characters, high-energy dance numbers and some of the most memorable songs in musical theater history.

Saturday, July 14

Shark-Con

When: July 14-15
Where: Florida State Fairgrounds at 
Cost: $4.95 Child | $14.95 Adult
Info: Shark-Con is back in Tampa Bay! This event is held to raise awareness for marine conservation and to inspire a love of the ocean. The expo gives you the chance to interact with experts while learning about the animals of the ocean. There are tons of kids activities, exhibits from Fish and Wildlife, Busch Gardens, the Shark Conservation Center, water sport clinics and numerous guest speakers. You can even meet mermaids and learn how to scuba dive! Shark-Con is only in Tampa July 14-15, so make sure to pick up your tickets soon.

 

Tampa Art Project Festival

When: 4 p.m. - 9 p.m. 
Where: Armature Works at 1910 North Ola Avenue, Tampa

Info: The Tampa Art Project Festival allows local artists in the Tampa Bay area to gain exposure and showcase their talents at Armature Works! Local works of art will be available for purchase. All ages are welcome at this event.  

Beer Olympics: Let Freedom Ring

A Fish Called Wanda (1988)
