Calling all adrenaline seekers! You can soak up the Gulf Coast from an open-air plane in Clearwater.
Sky Surfing Aviation takes you up to 1,000 feet in the air to grab breathtaking views of Tampa Bay.
Flying at 70 mph, this Florida outdoor adventure will even put you in the driver seat.
“It’s just an amazing perspective in an open aircraft. You really get to see something different here from an airplane or helicopter,” said Dane Hauser, pilot and owner of Sky Surfing. “It’s fun for people of all ages. I’ve actually flown with a man on his 94th birthday.”
The open-air plane is called a Delta wing or Trike, and it takes off from Clearwater Airpark. It’s a factory built, FAA inspected and certified Light-Sport Aircraft. Hauser lets guests take the controls under close supervision.
