Hillsborough County Fair brings two weekends of fun to Tampa Bay

DOVER, Fla. - The 2018 Greater Hillsborough County Fair opens Thursday, October 18 for two weekends of fun and entertainment. Livestock shows, carnival rides and fair food are staples at this annual event.

This year's grandstand will showcase a rodeo, truck and tractor pull, horse show, and a demolition derby. 

The Hillsborough County Fair also features sheep, cows, goats, and chickens, as well as a milking contest, a swine show, and grooming events, among other animal shows and displays.

The County Fair boasts some of the largest youth livestock shows among county fairs in the southeastern United States. Dairy and beef cattle, rabbits, poultry, sheep, goats and pigs round out the array of more than 800 animals that will be on display and competing in our show ring. The new market turkey show comes just in time for Thanksgiving.

Art, photography, recycled yard art, and home economic competitions are all located at the 7,000 square foot air-conditioned family living building.

Grandstand Events: 

  • Rodeo - Friday, Oct. 19 & Saturday, Oct. 20 @ 7 p.m.
  • Truck & Tractor Pull - Friday, Oct. 26 & Saturday, Oct. 27 @ 7 p.m. 
  • Demolition Derby - Sunday, Oct. 28 at 3 p.m. 

Grandstand events are only $10 following your paid admission to the fair. Purchase tickets in advance from a cooperating merchant locations for $10 and your admission to the fair is FREE.

The fair takes place on two extended weekends: Oct. 18-21 and Oct. 25- 28. Admission costs $7 for adults, $5 for students, $4 for seniors, five and under are free. Ride armbands are available every day for $20. Discounted Ride Armbands can be purchased online for only $15.
