Hanukkah celebrations happening around the Tampa Bay Area

Tuesday night at sunset marks the beginning of the Festival of Lights. There are a ton of great Hanukkah events happening throughout the Tampa Bay Area. 

Here's a list of some of the biggest celebrations:

Chanukah Celebration at City Hall Plaza | On Tuesday, December 12 at 5:30 p.m. Chabad Lubavitch will sponsor a Chanukah celebration at City Hall Plaza. The celebration will include the lighting of Tampa Bay's largest Menorah. The Hebrew Academy Choir will sing and hundreds will enjoy live entertainment. There will be a Gelt Drop by the Tampa Fire Department and plenty of activities for the kids. Admission is free. For more information, call Rabbi Yossie Dubrowski at 813-205-5324. Chanukah Celebration in Lakewood Ranch | On Tuesday, December 12 at 6 p.m. Chabad will celebrate on Main Street in Lakewood Ranch. Admission is free. A menorah made from cans of food will be lit at Lakewood Ranch Main Street. Participants are asked to bring canned food to assemble the Menorah. Get more information here

Chanukah Spectacular | On Thursday, December 14 at 5:30 p.m. the Chabad Jewish Center of West Pasco will host a spectacular fire show with Dallas the fire guy at Trinity Community Park. Get more information here

Chanukah Street Fair & Menorah Lighting | On Thursday, December 14 at 5 p.m. the Chabad of Spring Hill will host a Chanukah Street Fair & Menorah Lighting at Babies and Beyond Pediatrics in Spring Hill. Get more information here

A Taste of Chanukah | On Sunday, December 17 at 3 p.m. the Chabad of Sarasota celebrates with the 7th annual Community Chanukah Celebration and Taste of Chanukah, Israel Style. Get more information here

The Grand Chanukah Family Celebration | On Tuesday, December 12 at 6 p.m. Chabad of Clearwater will host a lighting of the World's First Ever Falafel Menorah. There will also be an Amazing Mad Science Show, live music, hot latkes, dreidels and gelt and a special gift for all children. Get more information here

Menorah Lighting | On Tuesday, December 12 at 6 p.m. the Chabad of Bradenton will host the Chanukah Israel Celebration at the Chabad of Bradenton and Lakewood Ranch. Get more information here

Ellenton Menorah Lighting | On Thursday, December 14 at 6 p.m. the Chabad of Bradenton and Lakewood Ranch will light 3 lights on the Menorah after 5:37 p.m. Get more information here

The Englewood Chanukah Celebration | On Tuesday, December 12 at 5:30 p.m. the Chabad of Venice and North Port will host a celebration including the lighting of a 9 foot menorah. Get more information here

The North Port Chanukah Celebration | On Thursday, December 14 at 5:30 p.m. the Chabad of Venice will host a celebration at Warm Mineral Springs in North Port. Get more information here

Winthrop Chanukah Festival | On Tuesday, December 12 at 6 p.m. Chabad of Brandon and Southshore presents the Winthrop Chanukah Festival featuring a Giant 9' Menorah, hot latkes, face painting, balloon sculpting and Chanukah crafts with a Great Gelt Drop. Get more information here

Chanukah Extravaganza | On Tuesday, December 12 at 5 p.m. the Chabad Jewish Center will host a Menorah lighting at the Sundial in St. Pete. Get more information here . On Wednesday, December 13 at 5:15 p.m. the Chabad Jewish Center in St. Petersburg will light two lights on the Menorah after 5:37 p.m. There will be a Torah reading. Get more information here . The 12th Annual Chanukah On Ice | Sunday, December 17 at 5 p.m. the Chabad of Pinellas County is hosting a celebration at 5:45 p.m. at Westfield Countryside Mall in Clearwater. Admission is free with reservation. Get more information here
