Fun things to do in Tampa Bay this weekend (May 19-21)

If you're looking for something fun to do this weekend (May 19-21), there's plenty of action happening around the Tampa Bay area. 

Friday, May 19

New York Yankees vs. Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field 

The Tampa Bay Rays will host the division-leading New York Yankees at Tropicana Field for a weekend series. Fans can enjoy $5 Bud and Bud Light drafts at the Budweiser Porch. If you swing by a 7-Eleven store, you can also pick up a coupon that will discount your game ticket to $7.11. Each coupon will be valid for up to four upper level tickets. First pitch is at 7:10 p.m.

Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto - The Florida Orchestra

Pianist Dejan Lazic will debut with The Florida Orchestra as he performs Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5, “Emperor.” This concert will be the TFO season finale with Michael Francis on the podium. Tchaikovsky’s dramatic Symphony No. 5. is also on the performance lineup. The concert begins at 8 p.m. at Carol Morsani Hall. Click here to buy tickets. 

Drink up, Slupee fans! 

Slurpee lovers who cannot get enough of their favorite drink will love Friday, May 19 and Saturday, May 20. 7-Eleven is bringing back its popular 'Bring Your Own Cup Day' on both days from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. For just $1.50, the price of an average medium Slurpee drink, you can fill any "cup" of your choice as long as you follow these rules.

6th Annual Burger Showdown

Rejoice, burger lovers! Restaurants will be competing for bragging rights as local chefs fight for the title of “Best Burger in Tampa Bay.” The 6th Annual Burger Showdown is free to attend with burger sampling tickets and drinks available for purchase. Attendees will be able to vote on their favorite burger with a portion of the proceeds benefiting The Voodoo Chef Foundation. This event kicks off at 4 p.m. at Curtis Hixon Park.

Downtown Clearwater Craft Beer and Music Fest

What could be better than food and drinks on the Clearwater Beach Walk as the sun sets over the Gulf of Mexico? The Downtown Clearwater Beach Craft Beer and Music Fest will showcase over 50 Florida craft breweries along with tasty food and local live music. This Saturday event kicks off at 11 a.m. and goes until 11 p.m. with free parking and admission. 

St. Armands Seafood and Music Festival in Sarasota

“We will lay the feast – all we need is you!” Fresh seafood, meat and vegetarian dishes will be prepared by local restaurants with all types of drinks offered onsite. Live music will also be played throughout the event. Hosted by the Humane Society of Sarasota County, make sure to go by the mobile adoption unit and say hi to all of the adoptable animals looking for a forever home. The inaugural St. Armands Seafood and Musical Festival is a free family-friendly event that lasts Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at St. Armands Circle Park. 

Sunday, May 21

Muse with special guest 30 Seconds to Mars

Rock on! Muse will be performing in Tampa with special guests 30 Seconds to Mars and PVRIS on Sunday night. The concert begins at 7 p.m. at MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre. Click here to buy tickets.

Goat Yoga

The new craze of ‘goat yoga’ has made its way to Tampa Bay. The one-of-a-kind class blends the movements and stretching of yoga with the therapeutic aspect of interacting with live kid goats. Geraldson Community Farm has paired up with Yolkers Wilde and yoga instructor Alina Hall to provide an experience yogis won’t forget. Space will be limited, so make sure to sign up fast.
