Florida Strawberry Festival kicks off Thursday in Plant City

PLANT CITY, Fla. — The countdown is over! The Florida Strawberry Festival is officially underway in Plant City.

The annual event celebrates the strawberry harvest of Eastern Hillsborough County. It lasts 11 days and draws people from all over, with more than 500,000 visitors every year.

Gates open every day at 10 a.m. and the festival is open until 10 p.m.

This year's theme is "Our Perfect Vision." The theme centralizes around the Festival's "Perfect Vision" for fun which includes rides, food, entertainment, shortcake and much more.

The festival features headline entertainment, youth livestock shows, exhibits of commerce and, of course, strawberry shortcake.

Admission is $10 for anyone 13 and older, $5 for children between ages six and 12 and free for children five and under.
