TAMPA, Fla. — The Henry Plant Museum is unlike anything else you'll find in downtown Tampa.

This beautiful, elegant and exotic structure was built in 1891 as the Tampa Bay Hotel, a Victorian railroad resort that defined the elegant frontier.

Now a National Historic Landmark, the Henry Plant Museum shows Middle Eastern-inspiration with minarets, copulas and domes stretching high into the Tampa sky.

Unlike most museums dedicated to lifestyles of the past, Henry Plant contains the actual furnishings enjoyed by the first guests to visit there.

The Museum accurately reflects the opulence of turn-of-the-century America and the vision of American transportation pioneer, Henry B. Plant.

Check out the Henry B. Plant Museum on the campus of the University of Tampa at 401 West Kennedy Boulevard.
