TAMPA, Fla. — On April 22, 1970 millions of Americans demonstrated the need for a healthy, sustainable environment. That was when Earth Day began, according to the Earth Day Network.
These are the celebrations for Earth Day happening around the Tampa Bay area:
- HART is providing free bus rides on all services
- HART CEO Ben Limmer will meet one-on-one with customers on board a bus for a Transit Town Hall
- Sarasota Earth Day Celebrations at Oscar Scherer State Park on April 27 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. — admission is free
