ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. —Each week ABC Action News attempts to help find a home for dogs currently housed in a local animal shelter.

This week we bring you a very social boy from Pet Pal Animal Shelter. Travis is an 6-year-old, 33 lb. Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix. One look in his big brown eyes, and you'll be hooked.

According to the American Kennel Club, terriers are intelligent, good-natured dogs who are excellent guardians.

With the help of their “Guardian Angels,” all adopters of Pit Bulls from Pet Pal will go home with a crate, leash, collar, Kong toy and small bag of Science Diet. Also included is a free initial vet visit to Pet Pal Veterinary Clinic where a 1-month supply of heartworm and flea prevention will be provided.

A group training class will also be offered by a certified trainer to provide guidance in leadership skills for all family members.

Travis is Pet Pal's mascot for their upcoming Pittie Pawty happening on Saturday, July 13 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. During the event at the shelter you will be able to meet Travis and all the other adoptable Pittie mixes needing a home.

Thanks to Courtney Dale, Travis' Pit Project Guardian Angel, his adoption fee is only $75.

Travis is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and dewormed. You must own your home to adopt him.
