Every Friday ABC Action News puts a special spotlight on a dog or cat that needs a home in our Pet of the Week segment.

This week we are featuring Lila, a 13-week-old Pit Bull Terrier puppy. What can we say other than cuteness overload?

Lila and her siblings are extremely adorable, energetic puppies. They are ready to find their forever homes. You must own your own house to adopt any of them.

Lila is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $200.

For more information about how to adopt Lila or other adoptable animals at Pet Pal Animal Shelter, you can call them (727) 328-7738 or go online to www.petpalanimalshelter.com.

Pet Pal Animal Shelter is located at 405 22nd Street South Street in St. Petersburg. You can visit all their dogs and cats up for adoption Tuesdays to Fridays from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 to 4:30 p.m.

If you cannot find a place in your home to adopt Lila you can help save a Tampa Bay area animal shelter from closing.

The SPCA Suncoast in New Port Richey is down on their luck. After serving the community for over 50 years, the shelter needs saving.

The non-profit pet shelter does not get money from county, state or federal governments, or even from the national SPCA organization. They rely on donations, which are down dramatically from years past so far in 2017.

Dee Ford, the President of the shelter's Board of Directors, tells Ford tells ABC Action News they need at least $25,000 to keep the lights on for another month or two.

There are two ways you can donate, either directly through the SPCA Suncoast website or via the GoFundMe account set up. The campaign's goal is about $12,000 short of their $50,000 goal.

Every dollar donated will have a direct impact on providing care for puppies and kittens.
