Give Day Tampa Bay, the 24-hour online charitable challenge, is returning for its fourth year on Tuesday.

Give Day Tampa Bay is part of a national event in which communities across the country ask people to give to their local nonprofits on one specific day.

Give Day Tampa Bay is a 24-hour online giving event designed to increase philanthropy in the Tampa Bay area and raise awareness of the amazing work local nonprofits do in our community. This is the fourth year that the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay has sponsored the event, raising more than $2 million for nearly 600 Tampa Bay area nonprofits last year.

Donations from the public will be boosted with funds from corporate sponsors of Give Day, with a prize pool of nearly $50,000 that gives nonprofits the chance to win monetary awards and prizes based on their day’s donations.

This year, the minimum donation is $5, which provides additional opportunities for donors to give to more than one nonprofit.

All donations are tax-deductible and will remain in the Tampa Bay area.

WEDU PBS will stream Give Day live on wedu.org from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday. The live webstream will include interviews with representatives from many of the nonprofits participating in Give Day, along with presentations and demonstrations.

ABC Action News Community Affairs Director Lissette Campos will be hosting the Give Day Tampa Bay coverage from the WEDU studios from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
