May 11th is the day to splurge if you crave fast food.

That is because Thursday is National Eat What You Want Day. Thomas and Ruth Roy of wellcat.com created the day so people could let go of frustrating healthy foods and annoying diets, if for just twenty-four hours.

According to a survey conducted by NationalToday.com, 37 percent of Americans crave sweets and desserts over any other foods. The second favorite craving is meat, followed by carb-loaded foods like breads and pasta.

The survey found men crave meat the most. Women desire sweets and desserts the most.

A new study by an Ohio State researcher to be published in the November 2017 issue of the journal Economics and Human Biology found there is almost no correlation between fast food consumption and income.

The study found between 75% and 85% of people of all incomes ate fast food at least once a week.

In the Tampa Bay area, McDonald's Big Mac ranks the number one most-craved food, according to Postmates.com's Culinary Cravings Survey.
