Half (50%) of Florida residents planning a non-holiday vacation of four days or more this year will take a trip in the next three months, according to a recent AAA survey.
Of all the city destinations throughout the country, four Florida cities ranked among AAA's "Top 10 Most Popular Travel Destinations” during the next four weeks – based on AAA hotel bookings.
Going by car?
AAA has some advice for preparing your vehicle and staying safe:
- Check the tires
- Wear safety belts. That includes securing children in a booster or car seat.
- Share travel itinerary with a family member or trusted friend.
- Check weather alerts along your route.
- Program GPS before driving, to reduce distractions while behind the wheel.
- Identify alternative routes before leaving, in case there is bad weather or congestion.
- Put the phone down while driving.
- Take breaks at least once every 2-3 hours to re-energize.
