Tampa Police detectives investigated a shooting Friday near the intersection of N. 36th Street and E Shadowlawn Avenue.

According to a witness, Michael Johnson, he saw a man on a bicycle shoot another man on a bicycle. He said he heard a total of 5 gunshots.

Johnson was walking back from a store when the shooting happened. He said he tried to hide and then immediately went to help the victim.

"I just have a neighbor here and at first I heard her scream so, you know, I ran up to help the situation and I (saw) the victim laying on the floor. We tried doing everything we could to help him... revive him," Johnson said.

Tampa Police said the victim, 18-year-old Antwan Tremaine Jenrette Jr., was transported to Tampa General Hospital. He did not survive his injuries.

Authorities are following leads and are asking for help. If you have any information, contact the police department at (813) 231-6130 or Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay.
