Scandal, the intoxicating Washington D.C.-based ABC series focused on the perils of political fixer Olivia Pope, is reportedly ending after the upcoming Season 7.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, ABC network officials are expected to make an announcement next week when the network unveils its 2017-18 broadcast season.

The ABC Studio and show creator Shonda Rhimes declined comment, the Hollywood Reporter reported.

The political drama stars Kerry Washington as Olivia Pope.

The series has garnered national attention for being part of ABC's Thursday night "TGIT" brand and part of Rhimes three consistently produced dramas.

Washington was a 2013 Emmy nominee for best drama actress.
