'Harry Potter' actor Alan Rickman dies of cancer

Fans and colleagues of Alan Rickman took to social media Thursday morning to mourn the iconic British actor, who died of cancer today at the age of 69.
 
Rickman was a prolific actor on screen and on stage but he was perhaps best known to American audiences for portraying Severus Snape in the Harry Potter movies.
