Danny Fernandez has a nickname for West Burke Street.

"This is the race track here everyone comes down here at a high rate of speed," he says.

They all speed even the ones with 18 wheels. Big loads at high speeds.

Fernandez caught a semi crashing into his front yard after the driver tried to make a sharp turn on his residential street. He says truckers use the neighborhood as a short cut to avoid the traffic on I-275.

A short cut that's turned their neighborhood into a daily danger zone.

"You walk across the street to get your mail, you got to jump in the ditch because they (are) going to take you out," says Fernandez

ABC Action news called Tampa PD and sent emails to city and county officials.

Tampa PD says they never had any official record of complaint.

They do now. And now police say they'll be looking into the problem.

Fernandez says the truckers are getting off too easy.

"He didn't get a ticket," he says.
