Four buildings at an apartment complex on Seaford Circle in north Tampa were evacuated Friday night after severe weather caused roof damage, officials said.

The American Red Cross assisted more than 30 people and found shelter for about 14 residents.

Three of the buildings remained evacuated Saturday, impacting 19 apartments. Residents who live in the fourth building were allowed to return, according to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.

The cause of the roof damage appears to be strong rain storms that moved through the area Friday evening, county fire officials said.

No injuries were reported at the complex Hillsborough County Fire Rescue identified as Serenity Lake Apartments but some residents referred to as Bay Pointe Condominiums.
