Wendy joined ABC Action News in April of 2003 and almost immediately launched her successful franchise known as “Dirty Dining.” Throughout the year, Wendy goes into bay area restaurants that are not following Florida’s Food Code. During her career, Wendy spent almost 10 years in Los Angeles, California. She worked as an anchor/reporter for KWHY-TV, The Business Channel, covering the financial markets and interviewing top CEO's from around the country. She then moved to Miami to launch her own national show with NFN, Net Financial News.
During her decade in the Golden State, Wendy also worked for a national cable network focusing on international issues and covering the Middle East peace process.
Other big stories she has covered include the aftermath of the 1994 Northridge earthquake and highly publicized O.J. Simpson trial.
Her career has also taken her to the NBC affiliate, KVOA-TV in Tucson, Arizona, and the NBC affiliate WICS-TV in Springfield, Illinois, where she served as the main anchor.
Wendy was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and graduated Cum Laude from the University of Arizona. In August of 2010, Wendy and her husband, Jerome, welcomed a new baby girl, Raquel Ryan Ritchey. Wendy also volunteers with several non-profit organizations and various events throughout Tampa Bay.
